I was accused by a moderator of using chat gpt for my post when I did not. This is my literal experience. I was assaulted by a manager at the McDonald’s I work at.
Stop getting your haircut at Great Clips
I moved to a new state, lost my clientle, and had to work at a great clips for a few months until i found new barbershop to work out of. They over work the staff. I asked about breaks at orientation and i was told by a manger “i dont give a fuck if your stomach is eating a hole through your back, if we're busy, you're not taking a break”. They would force us to work non stop when we were busy, and force us to clock out when we were slow. What sense does that make? I dont need a break if we're slow, but if we're busy all day, i need a damn break. Even telling us that we can't leave the shop on our UNPAID break, incase we get busy. Most of the money you make goes to the owner. You're basically living off tips like…
I've been multiple times in different ways from my current company. When I hear this statement, I cannot help but think “they're trying to hide their own problems” or best case scenario “there's a huge problem elsewhere in the industry”.
AITA for this?
I’ve worked for my family business for the last three years that I helped start. I have been paid same salary for three years and been given no raises or bonuses despite asking multiple times and the company flourishing and making millions. I started looking for work and was offered salary that’s $25k more + 2.5% commission of companies net sales.. life changing money for me. This company wanted me to start immediately. AITA for leaving and giving family little notice?
Ar the height of the covid pandemic, an employer transferred some employees from their Nevada to their San Francisco location, and put them even though they knew they might be infected in violation of a San Francisco city ordinance requiring quarantine. Another employee became infected, unknowingly took the infection home, and passed on to his wife who ended up in the ICU on a ventilator. The employee sued. California Supreme Court found that even though the employer had clearly broken the law they were not liable because it would create “dire financial consequences for employers”. There was no dissenting opinion. https://ko-fi.com/post/On-covid-Californias-supreme-court-just-said-the-V7V6N0GIS Yeah, that's the point of a lawsuit like this, you stupid assholes. You create dire financial consequences so that they don't do it again. And this is “liberal” California. Imagine how it would have gone in a red state.
Work wouldn’t spring for Crazy Bread.
Here's something I learned the hard way after being heavily taken advantaged of at my previous company. This is a message to any and all managers & employers. I guarantee you with my heart & soul not a single person on this fucking planet is working for you 5-6 days a week because they like being in the office. Every single person is there for one reason and one reason only and that's MONEY. You gotta understand employees have absolutely no loyalty to you if you don't pay them well. If the competitors are offering 20% extra you'd bet your ass your entire staff will go work for the competition. I was a gullible 20 year old kid once and I stayed at the company that was overworking me and underpaying me until one day I had enough and opened my eyes. To anyone reading this, that douchebag CEO doesn't…
is this legal? travelling hours
Hours worked- travelling Hi all, i don’t really no where else to post this. From november 2020 to august 2022 i was working for a landscape gardener in my local town, I needed the job so put up with more than i should have, i was paid £7 an hour or so. For all of those 2 years i was only ever paid for the time i was physically doing work, not travelling inbetween gardens to mow or building a fence etc. My boss was a complete narcissist and it made me feel like i couldn’t physically leave the job leading me to revert back down the black hole that is depression and i tried to OD. My boss didn’t believe me but after my parents found out i insisted i wanted to leave the job but they didn’t know the truth about how bad my boss really was. I…
