Title goes as it is. I was in the hospital after a car accident for three days, notified my manager and she approved the days off. An hour before my shift yesterday I get a phone call saying my employment has been terminated immediately. I asked why, twice, and got a “no reason, we are just going to part ways”. I’ve worked for this company for three years. She didn’t even ask how I was doing after the accident. Needed to vent here, I am at a loss of words.
Ww have to get rid of billionaires
It's super clear they don't give a fuck about us. Why should we give a fuck about them?
Came across a very interesting infographic and article about how there is currently 962.5 million square feet of vacant office space in the United States. The article breaks it down by city and discusses at a high level the impact to real estate firms and banks (boo hoo). I thought the data were interested and wanted to share: 1 Billion Square Feet of Empty Office Space
I'm through to the final stage of the hiring process for a reputable tech consulting firm we all know of. The role is a degree apprenticeship in tech consulting – it's what I'm passionate about and is literally my way out of this shitty call centre job I've been working in for the past 5 months after I dropped out of uni. The final round is an assessment centre – the issue is that the company I applied to gave just 3 days notice to confirm my attendance for the AC after the penultimate round. I've asked my manager for time off but there doesn't seem to be any chance. It'll be obvious ofc but should I call in sick? I'm still in my probation period which causes me to worry about job security. To add to that I haven't been the most punctual recently… All in the past 6…
Tired of this shit.
Is this what they call “life” ? Im only 23 and already tired, been working non stop since 16. Its not much but its more to come for sure. Cant see any escape paths and this makes me really depressed. I just want to live life the way it's supposed to be lived. Just had to get it of my chest.
No, it is not “normal”
No, it is not “normal” for humans to be in competition all the time. It is not normal to work most of your waking hours of the day. is not normal to be stressed 24/7 . Stop taking a few hundred years of capitalism Check and pretending that's just how being human is. It's not.
Hi {Boss of IT}/{Peon (IT)} Currently data from [MIS 1] writes back into [A Website, misspelled 1] ie timetable, attendance etc, however, we only add behaviour data into [A Website, spelled correctly] and when we move to [MIS 2] we want all the past behaviour data in [MIS 2] as we will be using [MIS 2, misspelled] to record behaviour when we go live and not use [A Website, spelled correctly] for this, they have said that the past data will only go over to [MIS 2] if we can get the data from [A Website, but used only the first two letters of said site] to go into [MIS 1], I am not sure if this can be done, is there a way of you finding out if this can be done. Thanks {Org manager]
50 yes, 6 no
We just had our union vote at work and as the title says it wasn't even close. We marched on the boss about 30 days after we started organizing and had a vote 3 weeks after that. I'm not sure if the company thought it had a chance of winning but judging by the boss's gradually sinking face after each yes vote was added to the pile they must have. Union membership is on the rise comrades. If work does something that pissed everyone off reach out to a local union and strike (no pun intended) while the iron's hot and you may be looking at 50 yes and 6 no.
