Been at my job since April, and there’s been such high turnover that I’m now one of the more experienced people in my position and dept. I also know that my company recently hired peers in a different department for significantly higher than what I make. I would have needed a 15-18% raise to match. I’ve already had prior frustrations with my employer regarding promised work/life balance not being delivered. In addition to handling my responsibilities I’ve been taking on work that’s above my title. My industry is booming and I don’t anticipate finding a new job to be difficult. All that said, if I stick around for at least another year I would hope they would give me a better title. It seems like they’re blaming the lack of movement on my having been here less than one year. Also, I have a young child and a time-consuming house,…
You heard it right, I filed for unemployment when I didn’t get a route for a whole week, explicitly saying the route drops were not performance based. Therefore allowing me to file under the reduced hours clause. The day after I did so, halfway through my first shift back I was disciplined for performance reasons by having my routes dropped to 3 a week instead of 4 from that point forward. These performance issues weren’t mentioned until after I began my shift back to work. When I explained further how it was amazons fault with delayed loadouts and a van that was grounded in an audit, and that I was slowing down for safety and that if safety was my DSP’s number one priority it shouldn’t be this large of a problem. I also gave them an ultimatum stating if I have 3 or more routes dropped it will be…
No Cost of living increase
Hello throwaway Account to avoid retaliation. I work for Discover Financial Services. I have worked there for a significant amount of time. (wont specify how long due to company reads this subreddit). Last week we had the once a year Q&A with the leader of the company. It was scheduled for an hour however the first 30 minutes was just a pre recorded presentation that felt like it was suppose to be presented to shareholders instead of actual employees. The final 30 minutes were for Q&A. One of the very first questions someone asked was would the company consider doing anything to help employees combat growing inflation. The leader wasted no time saying “Discover never has and never will give a cost of living increase” He then went on to say that he thinks inflation is on its way down and no one needs a raise because…
Minimum Wage History and Housing
Recently I was having a conversation with a family member about the current minimum wage and how it has not increased in the past 13 years. We also talked about how it related to the housing market. This prompted me to do some research into the exact history of minimum wages and how they have increased as well as the average home price. The family member in question purchased their home in 99' so we used that year and compared it to today. To start with the history of the minimum wage. Minimum wage was first put in place after the passing of The Fair Labors Standard Act in 1938. To keep this short and sweet, we will move on to what grabbed my attention the most. There have always been gaps in the raising of the minimum wage, so I wanted to see how other gaps compared…

Do I have a right to be upset?
I've been at the same company 6 years and worked through some crappy circumstances. I'm the only one still left after COVID-19 but my manager's manager has it out for me. He's a real weasel, he never tells you to your face, he goes secretive as possible. Yesterday everyone else comes in saying we “got a bonus and your paycheck will be almost double”, mine was the same. My manager got very quiet as if she knew nothing. I finally got it out of her, corporate implemented a “wage adjustment” January 1st and everyone got new hourly pay plus retro pay, except for me. She told me he left me out of the wage adjustment but “during review time in July you'll be eligible for an increase” (a measly 2%). The reason she gave for me not getting it is “I know it bothers John when you do petsonal lunch…
