Title. It's at 330pm today. I've done food service in the past, and had other management roles but I want to make sure I get this job. I want to be able to unionize the fuck out of that place. I'm already signed up with the IWW since January. Any tips would be appreciated!
I started this job about a month ago, I have a prior post about it, but things just feel like they've gotten worse. Originally, I was scheduled for 9:30am to 6pm, I catch a bus across the street at 6:26pm and it was fine for about three weeks. Last saturday, my boss at (Woodwill), let's call her Blancy, pulled me aside to talk. Blancy builds her own schedules. Every day of the week she “comes in early” by herself at 7:30am and leaves at 3:30pm. No other employees are scheduled until 9 or 9:30. We aren't open Sundays because of company reasons and she leaves early whenever a Friday is nice outside and gives herself Saturday off so she can have the weekend to herself. Two weeks ago she told me that the store looked terrible when we left on Saturday, she came into it *Monday morning and that if…
Apologies if mixing two bags here. The company I recently left was all about “GREEN GREEN GREEN”, it was all bullshit just to appease to the younger crowd and to a company over the pond they merged with. stupid ass memo's they shared how to “Go Green”… meanwhile I left because they forced everyone back into the office this month. Half their employees work downtown the major metropolis i'm near, the other half works just outside. I went out to a store this week around 4p, somewhere i needed to drive on the highway towards the city. HOLY SHIT the amount of vehicles that were out was ridiculous, BOTH WAYS. Even on the back streets everything was busy busy busy. I immediately thought to myself “yep this is why they want us back, drive more, waste gas, kill the environment”. Towards the beginning of the merger in a few company…

I was overpaid $12,000 on my first check
So I was overpaid by $12,000 and I know it's too much for them to not notice but how do I cover my ass so I don't have to pay any taxes next year on those overpaid wages? I still have not cashed the check.
I’m 20 years old and work as an auto technician making 14$ an hour. I enjoy my job (for the most part) and my coworkers and bosses are actually great. But living in Atlanta and supporting two cats, a dog, my partner, and paying bills has been unsustainable. Both me and my partner are taking a mental toll and I’ve been working 50 hour weeks just to keep the power on. We have both come to the mutual decision to break up and I am going to move either back in with my dad (if he lets me) or I’m just gonna live in my car again. I don’t really know what to do and I’m nervous about being broke/homeless. I’m not sure how I’ll make money or where I’ll live so I’m just stressed and uncertain for the future. Any advice?
Good morning all. I was having a quiet morning working from home when my boss decided to ring me up. For the first time since I started, I actually am getting a raise. I was at least expecting it to cover inflation but it was about half the rate. I’m not happy about it but I’m not sad either because I know my worth. We also talked about how since one of my coworkers is leaving, we are going to need to work on figuring out how we redistribute the work until another person can be brought on. The next few weeks I’m sure won’t be pretty but it won’t be anything I can’t get through. I just hope that I can find a new gig soon, I’ve been looking for about 5-6 months and can get through the phone screen but have had only one call in that time…
