My manager is on vacation so a temporary one from a different department has been assigned to “keep an eye on us”. Today alone she scheduled a meet for six. We had it finally at 11. Many of use pushed or skipped our breaks to not miss it. During this meeting she called out one of my coworkers for “Rolling her eyes”. Seriously this woman we have never met before called out, infront of the whole team, thus poor girl for maybe having a nonverbal aditude. I've been promoted to store manager at a large retail store and my store has fallen a little bit because of poor upper management sending wrong stock deliveries to us and delivering over 50 cartons (about 1000 + units of clothing) per day with one other staff on the whole day to unpack and put out onto the shop floor and serve customers. Ive been working there for 3 years i’ve always been on call i was always there to fill the gap when they were understaffed and recently i got my first paycheck from youtube and it turned out to be a lot more than what i expected when it comes to money. I’m 21 years old and doing an apprenticeship that I’ve come to realize has put me in a shit situation. The management is full of people who don’t understand how difficult this work is. I only make enough money to break even on my monthly expenses, which means I can’t save anything. My commute is 2 hours each way and costs $600-800 a month because I use public transportation. And I can’t get a car or move closer to work because I don’t make enough money for either of those options. I’m disabled and this job is making things worse, so I keep having to miss more and more time, which of course means management is pissed and I get less money.
