Tech jobs and lead positions
Another example that supports my theory how little management actually knows what their workers are doing. A lead position opened up in our department and I was asked to take it, with a small pay raise. I have literally been working 50% of what I might actually be able to do without exhausting myself. Don't get me wrong, I know my stuff, so again work smart not hard. I definitely did not work towards “earning” this position, but I got it probably because I was the only choice, not because I am good at what I do (and to repeat this, I am good at it). They don't know that I am actually good, because I slow down my work, which seems still to be enough. Hard work is not what determines a career, if you work for someone else. Hard work does not pay off, if you work for…
I Refuse Limitation
My GF likes to work, wants to work. Applies to jobs like crazy. Since pre-covid, how many jobs she get? Alot! Started another new job last week! Except every single one was through a temp agency… Uh oh, u were late? Cya later! Have an emergency and can't make it for a shift? Au revoir! Look at the wrong person the wrong way? Bye bye, good luck at the next place!! My situation is almost opposite, private school, tool and die diploma, then machinist apprenticeship and weeks away from millwright ticket. I've kept my UNION job over 10 years. No companies in the area can find any skilled trades to hire. With my credentials, I could probably get my foot in the door of any manufacturing plant I chose, if I choose… Sure I'm not getting top dollar for the area, some things like being treated like a human and…
Just had an appraisal
So iv just had my annual appraisal at work. They never told me it was happening, just asked me me come into a room and sat me down and had it. After they spoke about what other areas of work I'd be open to trying out etc , I had a chance to ask them some questions. If I had had more notice I would have had plenty more to say…. I asked what my job description was at the minute and what would be my job description in a years time if I did various things they were suggesting. The response was “let's not focus too much on job descriptions really, it's not that important. If you really want to put a label on it we could call you some sort of “manager”… I then asked what my salary might be hypothetically in around 2 years time to which…
Fuck Landlords.
Chains of semislavery
I woudnt dare to call it straight up slavery as it would be disrespectful to actual slaves from history or even nowadays. But in my last post i spoke about one of such chains in american culture which is tipping culture. Now i would like to point out on another chain, which is massive anti-union propaganda. Im sure you saw ads at your work how union is simply bunch of leeches that take out of your salary and do nothing. Because surely if your employer slander something, it must be bad, right? Or the literal crackdowns on any attempts of unionization, firing union leaders from jobs or suing them with made up BS. Think smart, unionize. Your employers know well enough that they can fire one, but they cant fire everyone. Unions benefit you! – They can make better deals regarding wages and bonuses as they speak for all workforce…
I've been trying to understand why there are so many offered position with absolutely unreasonable requeriments and it led me to a conclusion: corporate world is designed by and for sociopaths. For example, a normal entry level job, that supposedly exists for new people in the industry so they can begin working for the first time, the salary is as expected with that principle, so are the bonuses and the working hours, but the experience needed is absurd. When you publish an entry level job offer where you ask for 5 or 6 years of experience, you are not looking for entry level people, you want two specific kind of employees: natural liers that can manipulate your HR into hiring them or desperate people that should not be applying for an entry level offer but they have to pay rent. There is a high probability that those natural liers are…
