I just had a phone interview for a receptionist at a swim school and they asked me why I was passionate about it. No one has ever in history been passionate about it. I just need a paycheck.

Ok, hear me out. I think that crazy tipping culture stems from workers not being paid enough, so companies are turning to tipping culture to boost their workers’ income, so they don’t have to. Companies are also using tips to just boost their own profits. I was at a coffee shop. I hadn’t even got my drink yet, and the barista asks me if I want to leave a tip. I’ve never been seriously asked out loud for a tip. I said yes as I felt I had to and she asks how much…out loud. Like WTF? I have to announce to everyone how much I’m going to tip??? Then, I’m at the airport. I do self check out for 2 overpriced sandwiches at $32. It’s a self-checkout and it fucking asks me for a tip!! The self check out…asked me for a tip!!! Saw a post earlier today that had me thinking. At my factory there’s mandatory overtime once a month on a Saturday(used to be every other Saturday) for 6 hours. I’ve gotten kinda used to it nowadays but going in at 7 am on a Saturday after I just left at 11 pm the night before used to really get at me. They give a point too if you miss it.

So I need to start off with some important background info… I have an infection on my arm and I feel pain when I move it. In my job (for the government), I sometimes have to use physical force in a high-risk environment. As this is impossible for me and I don't want to risk my condition worsening, I have switched my shifts for the past 3 months to night shifts. Recently my employer has been refusing to switch my shifts thus I have resulted to speaking with my doctor to get a note from them. Last month my doctor gave me a note informing my employer to switch my shifts to nights for one month, which they did. for the last 4 weeks i have asked my boss for more work but im not getting enough. each morning before the daily stand up meeting i would message him with the tasks i completed tasks i am working on ect. each time i tell him im underutilized and would like more work he says ” im so busy i cant think of anything to give you atm let me think about it” then he might give me a 5 min task. its gotten to the point that i don't have any updates each morning. i spent 2 weeks reviewing compliance documents insuring we are compliant. the thing is this was 40 files and we went over 1 document which was due in February. several were due in march. i have asked if i should work ahead and was told not to since we need to discuss it as a…
