NPR: Boomers Finally Retiring Could Be Bad Because Companies Will Make Less as They Compete for Fewer Workers

I've long said that these old-ass people came into the workforce with their parents retiring at 55, so had plenty of room to move up, and then are staying until they are 70 because they didn't save any money. This mild-ass pandemic that came for the ill, the obese, and the elderly got them to GTFO of the way, and it looks like we can now make the money at 40 that they were making at 30. On the other side, NPR is saying, “This retirement could be bad for the economy,” and by the economy, they mean giant businesses that are now their sponsors Why millions of older Americans are retiring early in the wake of the pandemic – YouTube In fact, they call it “retiring early.”

My old boss is having sex with a 15 year old employee

Ok, I have no idea what to do here. Based in the UK, and I left this job summer last year (due to stuff that would make this sub have an aneurism, they made me work a shift covered in piss but that's a story for another day). Anyway, I'm still close with people that work there, and I actually know some of the people who replaced me anyway. So I found out from them recently that the company has hired a 15 y/o girl for work experience, and she's having sex with the manager. There's no written proof of it, but they've been caught making out at work. This is so many levels of horrible, but I have no idea what to do. Do I go to the police? She's denying it so it's not like they'd have a case. This just isn't sitting right with me at all.…

should we make abolish hotels a thing?

Based on the booklet “abolish restourants”, I have been thinking if the same crticism of there, expands to hotelery industry. inns are fine, RBBs are fine! but big hotels, corporation chain hotels, etc, is what I Am refering to. isnt a luxury hotel just a kind of giant restourant with identical rooms? do we really need a hotel for holidays,as opposed to traditional small family-run iins?

So nice our modern world, but hey I can eat cheap mear everyday full of anti biotics wow so nice. To my question: Since I wont win in lottery and my try on the stock marked which resulted in lose of 50% of my money i guess i have to be a good boy until im old, which jobs have the least work hours per week? I would even go so far to learn that new skill and live with my parents again. Cheers

This sub has changed a lot

Just wanted to point out the change in this sub. Kinda wondering if anyone is feeling the same as me about it. This used to be a place to band together, give each other advise and even group boycott certain places. Just only a few months ago we were all banding together to boycott McDonald’s in an attempt to fight a multi billion dollar corporation that is not paying or treating their employees well. That hasn’t changed. Yeah we have made a dent and stores are starting to struggle but places like this are still the problem and it will never change if we don’t stick to our plans to change things. It feels like the motive of this group has gone from fighting back to just sharing memes and talking about how much the work place sucks. Neither are very helpful. I had high hopes that this sub would…

Is it normal for companies to expect employees to clock in 50 plus hours every week for three months straight to meet deadlines?

Just asking cos no one has opposed it in my place and makes me think am I the only one isn't okay with this strict rule on always checking on employees time. I recently joined so this has taken me aback.
