Which I don't mind. But I can see how the psychology of people change when they know you're just that person who they hired. I thought I had the confidence and respect but I only have it with my time. Again, I don't mind but people acting different is just interesting. Will this ever change? This happens for photographers, artisans, I think the only other way you can turn it around is if you're a findom LOL thoughts?

Hi all, quite a long post ahead but something I need advice on. I've worked for my restaurant as a duty manager for 5 years and I've recently felt I've been stuck in a rut. I felt I've been passed up for promotion time after time and it has been put down to poor performance or similar excuses. The last 6 months or so have been awful and left me dreading work, looking for another job as well as affecting my relationship. So a week or so ago I met up with a friend I used to work with for a few drinks. After a short while he told me that my restaurant manager had been having an affair with another duty manager for the last 2 years. I wasn't entirely surprised as I'd always suspected there was something between them however I didn't really care much to think too…
Non American here and was just wondering if this is true. I admit I know nothing about the subject but I’m curious. If you’re obligated to go to an office for work and you don’t, would you still be entitled to anything?
Haven’t been paid
I'm an office manager at a sheet metal fabricator. My last paycheck bounced and keep getting promised payment. So have yet to see it, and today is when I turn in my time card for these last 2 weeks. Will I even get paid for that? I tried quitting last week, but my boss instead gave me a raise bump. A good one too. So I thought I could hold out a bit longer. He doesn't want me to leave because I've brought this place into the 21st century by making all paperwork now digital, as well as creating a website. I'm even helping with fabrication estimates and making things in this shop more efficient. (I don't know a thing about fabrication, and am looking at software and having meetings with outside sources to help me out.) My boss does not get the supplies we need, but is constantly asking…
Title says it all. No more pandemic leave. They also have a strict attendance policy. One day taken off for illness counts as a point, two days is two points, etc. If you have been with the company over 12 months you get 5 points, then You are terminated. If you are with the company for Less then 12 months all days out for illness count as double points. So one day off is 2 points. However for less then one year employees, 3 points is termination. So basically if You get covid and have to be off, you either go to work sick, or you collect points. You can then dig into your vacation. If you are out of vacation you are terminated. So f*ck us I guess….
I don’t know how well this belongs on this sub but i’m already working 6 pm-5 am at my local amazon warehouse and i’m fairly young so i want to help my family and my gf’s in these hard times. I despise the work but it’s one of the highest wages i can earn since all i have is a little college experience because i dropped out when covid first hit because i was going out of state. My family has told me that we need to keep a tighter budget since there’s 8 of us in the house including my two nephews from my older sister who just absorbed her former bosses billing business to create her own (I couldn’t be more proud of her because this is what she’s always wanted). I recently accepted a position for an entry level remote job for 15.50. However, I remembered the pay being listed differently and when I went to check the indeed posting said starting at 17. I have already accepted the job offer for the 15.50, but am curious if there is anything I can do to change this. I could say that I had thought the 15.50 was the pay during training. But am not sure if that would work.
