I am a freelancer but works exclusively for a company that uses Hubstaff. I have no benefits. I am a fast worker and can finish all my tasks in just a few hours. I let the timer run so I would have a lot of idle time. My outputs are of good quality. I submit on time. Revisions are quick. I get the job done. The company doesn’t directly call me out when I have a lot of idle time. But they did update the Hubstaff timer. All idle time gets discarded. So. I finished my tasks for the day already but I have 4 hours left where I have to pretend to type and be busy. It feels like a punishment for being efficient. Pay is mediocre. I have no benefits such as HMO and insurance. I don’t even have a contract.

I'm considering quitting my current toxic job I've been working there as a casual for 2 years. I'm currently looking for another job related to my career before I quit. Any advice on how to quit professionally?

I was working as a sous chef in an upscale market/bistro, it was soul crushing .. The work was awful, the owner of the market knew nothing about running a restaurant they had like 10 managers, and 4 kitchen people, I shit you not. When we were busy these managers who have never worked in a kitchen would just stand there. It was fucking awful. Positives – It was a bistro inside of an Italian Market so they were closed at 7, Also I was paid $22 an hour, which was a step up from my gig before that at $17. I'm about to get to work and I was wondering how much people from the states pay for rent. I'm from Spain and live in a small city near Castellón. I pay 400€ for rent and make 1160 + extra hours monthly, honestly it's kinda shocking to see wages like $15-20 hourly and still you can't make it.

Yeah, I'm weak. No shame in saying that. I work odd jobs in music and actually am finding relative success with connections. But being the music industry, it wouldn't cover rent to move out, although I absolutely have the savings for it. It's not that I need the money. It's more sentimental than that. I've been working for a small business for the better part of 2 years now. It's retail, but I do everything back-end, taxes, marketing, set up payroll ect. My boss has consistently been someone who doesn't have an in-depth buisness plan and very poor communication skills. I'll be yanked from one task to the next. At some points, I was even asked to commit fraud to get government grants. We got those grants, but I made it clear I wasn't going to do it personally.
