Long story short. I was telling my boss how inflation is starting to kill me, relocating for my job the past 6 month raised my rent more than I expected, and not sure what I’ll do when student loans start again. Anyway, they were insistent I probably make more then them after considering their child support and wife not working (both self inflicted wounds). Anyway not only do they own their house in a booming market, they just bought another vacation home, with straight up cash. I can’t even afford to save for a down payment on a house. What do these people not understand?
National Call In Sick To Work Day
I've heard people joke about how the Monday after the Super Bowl should be national call in sick to work day. You do you.
I worked several shitty jobs in my life but the worst of them were call center jobs. It's something about having a headset that I can't take off that is particularly dehumanizing. It's more than a thankless job, it's a pointless job that should not exist. If a customer wants to bitch and moan, do it by email please . Working at CC with a Bachelors degree and student loan debt felt even more Hellish. I even had a supervisor who didn't graduate high-school at all. To be fair he was a great/intelligent guy who just didn't give a care about higher-ed at all.

Hey all, I work at a small chain of adult novelty stores in PA. There’s 5 video & toy locations and 3 smoke shop locations. The owner of our company makes millions a year & we make tens of thousands of dollars in profit a week at my store alone. The issue: we get paid SHIT. Starting wage is about $9/hr for sales associates. I’ve been with the company since October and have been promoted to key holder, with a $1 raise. After discussing wages with managers, I found out that they’re not even making $15 an hour and were promised somewhere between $14 and $17, but upper management tried to get away with just giving them $13. Even working fulltime and overtime I’m barely pulling in $500 a week, and that’s only if I completely disregard my mental and physical health in order to work constantly. I love my…
Total Wine: A Total Failure
I don't work at total wine, but I went there to buy a bottle of wine for Valentine's day. As I was checking out I noticed that the cashier's hand had some sort of tape or something on it, so I asked them about it. They said that they thought they had seen some sort of display sign and attempted to hit it or something, but it was actually some green glass and it cut up their hand (tbh the story was sort of confusing, mostly because I am bad at social interactions I think). I asked if that means they would receive worker's compensation. They said Total Wine requires a doctor's note, and they can't afford to reload their bus card to see the doctor. At the very end they said “I hate capitalism”, which I quite appreciated. I gave them a cash “tip” for their nice service, and…
Shouldn’t of been hired?
I was employed as a work from home – customer care representative. The company offered nice benefits and pay, the management was nice, and work was simple. I was digging it. After 4 weeks of working (2 weeks of training, 4 days of nesting) and about a whole work week into actual production. I had already collected 2 paychecks and was working on my third. While in the middle of a call, I get a side chat to log out of systems and join zoom with a team leader. I mean okay, I'm thinking maybe I did something wrong but thought I was doing a good job. Wrap up the call and join zoom only to be told that he was just sent an email with information saying my background screening process failed. I shouldn't have been hired or allowed to work on the project I was working on. Mind…
