My boss is a prick. I’m an architect making around 100k currently, and 100% WFH at the moment- our whole office is. My boss is a keyboard warrior over our online chat programs. He is rude, dismissive, types in all caps, often in the “general” channel for everybody to see. For the record, he is a 60+ white guy, but until a few weeks ago was pretty good with me. I’ve been there 8 months and rescued them for a project that was fucked. I’m a 30something brown woman. Today, after a few weeks of me telling him that yelling via text etc is inappropriate, he yelled at me and hung up on me via VC. I messaged him that I’m offline for the rest of the day and went to a yoga class. I’m now updating my CV for two jobs where I’ll make 60% more than I currently…

My mom just doesn’t understand.
I go to school everyday with so much god damn homework, I don’t even do a 4th of it because it’s so much work, and knowing all this, she expects me to do chores? Screw that. I love my family but if they are gonna turn on me because I simply don’t have the time to do time taking chores because I actually want to enjoy life then screw that. I don’t know about much of what to do but I don’t think I’ll do too much because stress is horrible for mental health.
Context: I work in a hospital at the bedside. Unfortunately because hospitals are open 24/7 there are unlikeable shifts that need to be filled. I'm on nights and have no problem with it since I'm young with no kids or have super serious responsibilities. We also work every 3rd weekend and our weekend shifts are with the same people and I mostly love the group I work with. Our boss tends to play favorites. There's a co worker who switches every 3 months on days and night shifts and when he is on night shift he works our weekend. Our weekend is also very well staffed so she will ask him to come off the weekend and work other days and of course he says yes. There are a couple other moms on our weekend and it can get frustrating when she only asks the one co worker and no…
The title says it all. Planning to go out of the country without letting my employer know. Was wondering if there could be any restrictions/alerts based on my location. Is there a way to check without calling IT? Edit: thanks y'all, a work laptop is a no-no for me. I'm also able to connect via VPN using my personal laptop – would they be able to track me if I do that? Edit2: What if I double VPN it? Let's say I go to Africa and this location is restricted when I try to use my work VPN. What if I set VPN on my personal computer to North America, is there a chance I'm going to be able to connect to the work VPN? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I'm not very tech-savvy.
