I saw another post recently here that made me realize that there may be some more other people struggling with this same issue Some background for me: Asked boss strictly for things regarding a personal conflict in the office and my own mental health be only be spoken about over email. After insisting he only discuss this with me via email, he refused multiple times and ended his last email by saying that he will be ignoring my emails regarding this in the future. Another incident was when I asked for clarification on something he was doing and why I needed to submit certain information to him. I asked him via email and got no response. Asked him in person and he gave me smack. Asked him to send an email clarifying what he had just told me, and he flat refused and walked away from me. I emailed him…
So this just happened, I was just suddenly terminated for “not satisfactory performance” without even talking with my boss, I was called directly by HR and made sign my termination of contract and my checks for indemization and vacation time and all that. It was so sudden and hastily done, I just picked up my stuff and was escorted out, the work day wasn't even finished. Honestly I might have been the second best worker under my boss, if not the best one so I find it really weird. I'm not into conspiracy theories but this morning I was listening to the latest Second Thought video and he mentioned the IWW (Industrial Workers of the World), an organization that helps workers unionize, and I was curious so I made the (apparently) mistake of checking out their website on the work pc, and now I'm out the door lol. I really…
I seriously never thought I would be here. I am still attending community college and just moved in with my fiancé one year ago. I was a shift supervisor at Starbucks for 2+ years. At the END of my employment there, after working there for almost 3 years total, I was making $16 an hour. It was the same amount that shift supervisors who had been promoted 2 weeks before I left was making. For over a year prior to me leaving I had been promised full time hours. I was regularly getting between 22 and 28. I rarely crossed over the 30 hour threshold. That wasn’t even the tip of the iceberg. In the last year of my employment my store had been through 4 store managers. Each one worse than the last. Our very last one was the worst of the whole bunch. She didn’t give a FUCK…
Desperate Dollar Tree
If you want to know true power,
Quit a job that relies on you for everything. I am, for the remainder of February, the sole full time employee at a sales/retail location. Did everything myself; sales, inventory, health and safety, deliveries, dealing with dickhead customers. We would have 2 rush times of the year, where I would be putting in at least 90 hours per week for 4-6 weeks. The record one year was 26 days straight, with 15 hours of work being the shortest day of the 26. Now I know what you're thinking, wow that's lots of overtime pay… nope, job is salaried. No overtime pay. I brought it up every year for 4 years prior to the rush that I was overwhelmed and over worked. The answer? “Well, the work has to get done.” That's easy for my boss to say when he is at the head office several hours away, where there are…

I have been working at a job for which I'm very overqualified for about 6 months. It's hard work and not a lot of pay, but I was told when I took the job that I had to start at the bottom but with my work history I would move up very quickly. I don't mind hard work and I don't mind having to pay my dues at a new company to move up and I liked the district manager who I interviewed with so that was all fine. Meanwhile, this company is bleeding employees. Fully staffed, my branch has 6 employees and a branch manager. We have been fully staffed for a total of 5 days since I started there. I've been doing the job of 3 people for 6 months straight, working 50-60 hour weeks and coming in on the weekends to make sure the work gets done.…
