My wife had to take off work for one day a few weeks ago so I could have neck surgery and she could drive me home and watch me the rest of the day. And can you believe she still hasn't heard the end of it. But her boss just took off today on the busiest day of the week, without any notice, to go to a dancing with the stars convention or some bs. God I can't wait till she puts in her notice and leaves them hanging.

Need advice dealing with a tyrant.
I work in a restaurant, one of the light fixtures in the dish pit is full of water and dripping everywhere. I was asked by a manager if I could wash some dishes and I respectfully decided to use my right to refuse unsafe work. (The light literally looks like it's about to collapse at any minute due to all the weight of the water, plus the fact that water and electricity dont mix). She then proceeded to call me an asshole in front of all of the other staff members and bullied a fellow staff member (who also felt uncomfortable working under the dangerous light) into washing the dishes. Not sure what to do and could use some advice! Also, a few weeks ago, this same manager was cutting peoples hours. When a staff member brought up the fact that he was struggling to pay his Bill's and could…
I got a new job at a bagel store and only worked for 2 days before they fired me and said I'd be untrainable. I don't know what I did wrong and all I know is I'm angry. How's your thursday going btw?
About work. I feel like being housewives are under appreciated and exploited for their whole life. If women chooses to be one, why should they suffer under it? I'm not born as a woman, but the more I try to put myself in their shoes, I feel really alienated. As a child who asked their mother. As I examine further, usually the husband doing less work than the wife (or worse unemployed). While expecting their wife to do the whole labour, they would gaslight and being temperamental about it. Why can't they appreciate it a bit and not feel entitled? Because muh, the gender roles. I wish I could help her, but I'm struggling with executive dysfunction. The oldest son, have the same attitude as the husband/father figure. The daughter lived a life with her husband. Then there's me, the unhelpful 'son'. “Why do you keep married if you're unhappy…
“Passionate workers”
Can someone please explain to me why IN THE FUCK do companies think that employees down at the bottom making the bare fucking minimum of they're pay scale give any sort of flying fuck about the company they work for????? Dude I'm literally here because it offers health insurance and allows me to pay my mortgage, fuck all the way off if you think I will give this shit hole any more then the bare fucking minimum you pay me for. This is not my passion, my passion is my life and unfortunately I have to have this job so I can have my life.
My Supervisors on Drugs, What Do I Do?
I work for a pretty small company and was recently promoted to an area well beyond my knowledge, ability, or understanding. They’re being extremely patient with the huge learning curve I’m under but the issue isn’t my lack of understanding or ability to learn, it’s that the supervisor they are having me train with is always on some substance while at work. I’ve seen him pop two pills given to him by another co-worker, they were stimulates. He also smokes weed in his car on his breaks. I worked private security for a number of years and I know when someone is fucked up. Thing is I’m not anti-drug at all. My issue is that he cannot function or relay information when he’s like this making it impossible for me to learn anything. I’m at my wits end since this seems to be a work culture problem and no a…
With so many empty buildings, it seems easier to rezone property, then wait for a 10 year cycle of builders putting up more housing. That and the type of housing I’m seeing these days is just luxury apartments that anchors rent prices higher.
So, I had a serious health issue pop up. Very unexpected, my husband and I have 4 children. So me being in the hospital he had to stay home and you know keep his tiny humans alive. He called his boss at the job hed been working at for years and told him what was going on, all is well. So throughout the next week he text and checked in with his boss. Than suddenly he received a TEXT mind you saying that he was considered “a no call no show” because he was texting his boss with updates and that's against policy. So he proceeded to ask if he was fired. No response he called left voicemails for the manager and the owner no return finally after he text them for the 10th time asking if he was fired yet again he got another response saying that according to…
