So, I work in a hospital, and we are getting rid of some old drug dispensing machines because we bought new ones. The company we purchased them from pays another company(Tazmanian) to pick up the old ones. So, I was talking to these 2 guys who work for Tasmanian, and they were in a real sad shape. One guy is limping with a bum knee, which he says is work related but says he can't afford to do anything about it. So he's hauling this 200-pound machine when he can barely walk. The other guy told me he lives in a tent. A fucking tent! This is New England in the winter. Some days, your eyelashes freeze shut. I'm pretty tough and bike in the winter, but I could never imagine surviving in a tent. How can a working human being in this rich country be homeless? It just seems…
Our money has power. Don't support McDonald's. Don't support Walmart. Support local as much as possible. Go to the farmers market, shop small businesses, buy sustainable alternatives.
Is it because the truck drivers are mostly men? Why can't Working Class People in these terrible awful jobs organized? I've had people throw more smoke at me when I say you should file a police report over workplace assault, then having smoked for the guys assaulting people!
How bad does it have to get?
Lied on resume got a high paying job
So I made a fake ish resume. Some was true and some not. My degrees and all credentials were legit and true but I put a few places of employment that I “worked” at that I truly never did to have more experience. The career field is something I am in and am knowledgeable in I just don’t have 5+ years of experience like everyone wanted soooo I made up like 3 ish. We’ll fast forward a couple of weeks and I landed a remote job. Very well paying. Literally doubled my salary. A bit worried I can be found out but at the same time is it bad I don’t feel that guilty because of how most companies are when it comes to insane requirements and little pay. Should I be worried & confess or run with it as long as I can? Ps. I’m in the HR field

LIFE ADVICE
Get a job 🙂
So I was born in russia and my parents grew up in the soviet union, they would make school kids work in state potatoe farms called kolkhoz and they probably still do in Belarus, where my moms side is from. If everyone stopped working in Canada for over 2 weeks they could try to mandate people to work using the emergency powers act.
