One of many forgotten laws on the books in America… It's illegal in Pittsburgh to sell a rope to a Dutchman on Sunday. This was for all of Carnegie's homesick immigrant mill workers, that kept hanging themselves on their one day off. Rather than spend the money to improve conditions or pay the workers more, he lobbied the government to pass a law which cost FAR more. It's not about what they can afford. It's about what you deserve. This is class war.
