Wait, They Can Do That?
Came in today to learn one of the cashiers was no longer working at our store (great short staffed for the third time this week, oh well). But apparently his psychiatrist called on his behalf, and quit for him saying it was too much stress on him. I'm like damn what does that mean for the rest of us? Also maybe I need to get me a psychiatrist to quit for me lol.
I started working for this business very recently. Apparently I applied for a job in a department that had not even been started yet. Nobody told me that. The date it was supposed to start kept getting pushed back. After being there for three months it is just getting off the ground and that’s barely anything. I haven’t even been able to be trained for that job because the higher ups don’t know what the hell is going on. But let’s table that for now. The first trained me on the floor and then they trained me as a cashier. Neither were the department they told me I’d be in while I was waiting for my department to open, but I digress. They push the new employees very hard. They have an extremely high turnover rate and do not have the time to properly train new employees. Just after a…
I try my best but it’s still not good enough for them. Once their rude it hurts my feeling because I be working my ass off just for them to treat me the way they do. I wish I could do more for them but I just work a the register I try my best. I’m human once I get stuff wrong or forgot something they act like I do it on purpose. It’s genuinely an accident and I’m really apologetic but they don’t seem to care.. maybe they need a snickers idk. I ruins my whole day. A lot of them are cool though. I’m 17 btw.
Not sure if this is the right forum but any advise or words of encouragement are welcome. I took a job last year at a local hospital when my unemployment was about to run out. The pay is not great but the health insurance benefits are not as bad as what I’ve had at previous jobs. While I think the 40 hour work week is too much for anyone and leaves little to know personal time at all it’s especially exhausting when your overactive immune system attacks your joints and can make it painful to even get out of bed. I’m only 34 but am afraid I can’t continue working like this long term. I don’t think I’d qualify for disability but even if I did I’m afraid it would not pay the bills.
15 Minite Mandatory Breaks
During a meeting with one of my managers, I was told my productivity needs to improve. I work as a Customer Service representative, minimum ready time on the phone went from 3.5 hours to 5 hours, with our salaries remaining the same. I've been struggling to meet this new requirement, so my manager casually mentioned that I should consider not taking my 15 minute breaks that I take twice a day. Isn't this illegal for her to say? Can I report her to HR? The meeting was not recorded so I unfortunately do not have any proof. Should I bring it up anyway or would I be wasting my time?
Bruh the drive in movie theater bengies near me just posted their job application and the rules are fucking terrible. Look at this shit. pic.twitter.com/jsj4b0dRMH— Demetrius (@meechie2_) February 15, 2022
