For about two decades I've been buying eggs for about $1 per dozen. Now, just in the last couple of years, there's no one selling $1/dozen eggs. I guess no one wants to sell eggs anymore. If we stopped giving farmers all these government handouts, they'd have an incentive to get off their butts and get back to work. /s
What I do: Natural gas compressor field service technician.
Stupid? maybe? scared, yes lmao. I found out they offered me 5-10k lower salary than what was reported for this company usually. Some local jobs for the same title also offered a little over $52k This has been eating away at me, The offer was 40k salary, Which is okay but I can do better. So i emailed them this morning, asking to discuss a salary increase via zoom, or coming into the office. They just hired me a week ago and I start next week. Is this “unprofessional” maybe but I don’t care. Hopefully I don’t get fired. Wish me luck! Edit: spelling, i’m on my phone.
So, I’m back in the job market…
I told you guys how I worked a day that I'd normally be working but didn't have to because I was told it was a training day and no one said otherwise. Here's the thing, last week they told us we'd have to come into the office 3 days out of 5 starting today. I told them that was impossible for me because Covid Is still really, really bad here. I have multiple heart defects, one of which also limits my lung capacity, and I have scarring on my lungs from having regular pneumonia 3 times as a child. Which means I'd be super likely to wind up in the hospital or worse if I got Covid. I didn't explain all the details because frankly it's none of their business, but I do have a letter from my cardiologist explaining basically a cliff notes version of my medical history and…
Not mind but millions can relate
There's probably a better place for this but I don't know it and reading about people getting screwed by work here and seeing all the advice is what made me want to get ahead of this thing. I work at a Dollar Store as a CSR, red not yellow, and at the end of last month I ended up getting COVID after my Dad got it. We have it in printouts from the company that if we have a positive test and are vaxed we get 5 paid days. I sent my test results (Two tests actually) and my vaccination card to my Store Manager after I got my results back after two days off who sent it to the District Manger to do what needed to be done. I figured that was it I and went into rest mode because I felt like shit. I figured the money would…
Why are you on r/antiwork?
Why are you on r/antiwork? I am currently working as an engineer in a machine shop for a cosmetics plant, and don’t see much issue with working, but I want to see everyone’s perspective. Please tell me and help me understand your. (This is not a joke, I seriously want to understand and have a better awareness that I can use to help people).
Just a little rant
My manager does not believe and gets mad when someone is sick because she never gets sick. Her words: “I don’t get it when people are sick, I am never sick. I protect myself very well they should do to” I am sorry miss v, but while you go to work by Uber everyday (the company pays) I have to wait for the bus on the cold in winter. While your husband go buy the groceries I have to go myself and wait for the bus on the cold again. While you can work from home sometimes, I can’t never do that. You are mad at me because I am sick at the same day as another person, go f yourself. Sick of you, and sick of everyone that sides with you because they are scared. Sick of being micromanaged and not appreciated. Sick of you calling me after work…
