Long story short: Joined big tech company less than a month ago. Boss assigned me last-minute, non-critical task to have done by the end of the day but didn't tell me to send it to him. He sends me a message the next day telling me he didn't get anything from my last night. I see the message late due to tech issues (have done everything I can, all I can do is wait for response from IT). He's been nice so far but he sends me back a bitter message saying I need to get it resolved by the end of the week and start taking accountability and ownership. I send him the task, he ignores my explanation, so I set up a meeting to explain myself and he tells me he's upset that I'm not being a “leader” and that I waited two weeks after my start date…
Something to be Proud of
If you're doing what you can to put food on the table for the people you love, that's something to be proud of.
A speech for this movement
I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor That's not my business I don't want to rule or conquer anyone I should like to help everyone, if possible Jew, Gentile, black man, white We all want to help one another Human beings are like that We want to live by each other's happiness Not by each other's misery We don't want to hate and despise one another In this world there is room for everyone And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way Greed has poisoned man's souls, has barricaded the world with hate, Has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want Our knowledge has made us cynical Our cleverness, hard and…
This happened last year but this group inspired me to share this. I am a personal trainer in Canada. It was a hard enough business before the pandemic, but has been damn near impossible making a living through the lockdowns. When gyms were closed, I asked my manager if it was going to be an issue with our non-compete to start doing online training while the gym was closed. He assured me it wasn’t and was a good idea. When the gym reopened they saw that I had created an online platform to sell training on my own. He all of a sudden was surprised and said I would have to brand it as world gym and give them a percentage of the profits.. I was pissed and said that was out of the question. They had already terminated my position as headcoach of the CrossFit knockoff part of the…
“If you don’t like it then quit”
Originally posted to r/maliciouscompliance and someone suggested I post it here: This one is pretty simple but it happened mostly today and over the past few days and I’m proud of myself for organizing such a tremendous display of fuckery. So there are 2 departments at the place I work, one department has 5 teams and the other has 4. Neither department can do the job of the other and each team has a very specific job that can not be done by other teams. I’m keeping this insanely vague on purpose, I’m sorry. So I am in the department with 4 teams, and I am part of a team that has been taking a lot of abuse from management lately. Mostly passive aggressive messages and videos in public group chats, our team members getting yelled at basically every other day, and just general condescension. This is because management is…
We are never letting this happen again!
Our eyes are wide open. We are finally awake to what the sick and fucked up corporations are doing to us. These shady, self-indulgent murders and thieves will never harm us again. We see clearly now, and we see what we can have. Create a new world for everyone. Create a new labor market with me. Create a new home for the future generations, so they will know to never accept this again!
Saw this and thought it was fitting
My boyfriend and I both work from home and we share a room. My boss calls me randomly with webcam on throughout the day to 'check in'. She noticed my boyfriend working from home behind me and asked if I could please switch rooms because of the confidential data on the screen (I sometimes have whole social security numbers up on screen). The problem is we live with his parents and there isn't an extra room for me to work in. We don't make enough for an apartment or a house so we are forced in this small space together and we certainly don't want to be. I'd love my own room but I only make 15 an hour and it barely covers my 80k in student loans, let alone anything beyond that. Can they actually fire me for not switching rooms or is there anything illegal that I am…
Then everyone will have a job and there will be enough work to go around, right? Everyone wins, right?
