For context, I am a 22 year old college senior, with a year of copy editing experience, at two different organizations simultaneously, under my belt. I've started applying for jobs, just to feel things out and find out what I'm worth. Some places have offered me up to $35 an hour. A job contacted me for an interview, and after accidentally missing the first one, we finally spoke today. During the phone interview, I was on edge. My interviewer was being dismissive of my answers and seemed uninterested. I was told the job required 1-3 months of unpaid training (the content was difficult, he assured me) and then a guaranteed job if I made it through. This surprised me a little, but I graduate in 3 months and it was possible I had misunderstood the job listing, and this was an internship? “If I get to the paid portion, what…
Fired on my third day
Are there any jobs out there that don't suck the life out of you? I work in IT. I've been in this industry for a while. I have a few certifications and two bachelor degrees and I am very good at what I do. I recently started a new job at a SaaS company. I checked their Glassdoor and they had some negative reviews but they were all back from the old days, so I ignored. After I accepted the offer, I received numerous texts from my new boss sharing how excited she was and sending me screenshots every time she added me as an admin to something. On my first day I decided to introduce myself on the…
This!!! This is what we want
I have to get this out of me after finding out. I was worked to death while I worked at Wendy's. We were the only Wendys in the area that closed at 2 am. It wasn't too bad for a regular employee. The old Gm Denise promoted me, but she left like two weeks after my promotion. However, when I worked for the new GM I saw the store in a whole new light. I was overworked, underpaid, and constantly on the edge of mental anguish. From coworkers stealing out of backpacks to the new GM “Miguel” being the biggest hardass I ever met. I would have to work during my lunch break if it was busy, no 10 min breaks too. Never really treating us as people and more like a drill sergeant drilling orders into us. We had a very high turnover rate after he got hired. Instead…

hi all, long time lurker first time poster and just wanted to say i got the nerves to quit my job finally yesterday. after a long time of unfair treatment, a hostile environment, and so much more that i don't even want to get into, the final straw was my boss getting mad at me for saying “no” after he asked if i could come in while i was positive with covid. 🙂 besides him, there are only two other full time people there (my boyfriend and i, and i had already okayed this with my boyfriend as he's my coworker, too, and i didn't wanna fuck him over). maybe now he'll realize i was a valuable asset to the team who was a hardworker and i just couldn't take his bullshit anymore. everyday felt like i was dealing with a high school bully for no damn reason. he just…
