What do you think would happen, how do you think it would go if America, as a whole, unionized? Rather then all the different fields and trades unionizing or attempting to unionize on their own, could the entire work force of citizens unionize together?
My husband is a construction site supervisor for a small company. Beyond being the site supervisor he also is expected to do the construction work and pickup the materials and do anything else his boss decides to heap on him that day. His boss is a very unorganized person and he often likes to throw my husband under the bus to save face to the customers. His boss currently took a job that's an hour and a half away and all my husband's coworkers are getting paid travel time but my husband isn't because he is the only worker that's paid a salary instead of hourly. There is no benefits. He gets the minimum vacation time although his boss gets very upset when my husband takes time off because the whole company has to shut down whenever my husband takes time off because things don't get done when my husband…
As far as I understand, all universities/colleges (don't know what's the exact difference) in the US are paid, and are very expensive. You got to take a loan to study. And most of somehow paid jobs necessarily require a degree. It's obvious that most of your education today you gain on the internet or doind an actual job and earning yourself an experience. But you always need a diploma to “prove” that you are capable of doing your job. So, in fact, an university degree actually works as a “job permission”? I know that many people go to the military before/after getting their degree, because it is quite a good payed job so they could use that money to cover their student debt. And that is one of the reasons why there's so many military US bases across the world. Looks like government forces young people to go to the…
Brainwashing employees into submission
Was shopping at two separate national grocery chains in the US during the past week, one for grocery pickup and the other for lane checkout after work. I don’t typically tip for everyday duties, but the grocery pickup folks loaded my car in freezing weather and the checkout had a bagger that loaded everything quicker than I could finish my transaction. I was grateful in both cases and wanted to show my appreciation. “I can’t accept that – I’m hourly” was the response I literally received from both of them. They also held up their hands like I had a knife pointed at them. The pickup person looked back at the building and up at the camera. “If they see me take that then I’ll be fired.” At checkout, the cashier immediately looked back and said “He’s right, we can’t do that, we’re hourly” like he needed backup and reiteration…
This was dead ass on a job advertisement. Tell me you want to make your employee’s lives revolve around YOUR business without telling me flat out. Minimum wage gets minimum loyalty and minimum effort. I said what I said. If you have a history of your workers not trying, not showing up, or having a bad attitude…. 90 percent of the time it’s because you bred an environment that’s unbearable to be in.
