The treadless leather shoe hugged his size-14 foot like a too-small ballet flat, and he began finding blisters and blood at the end of each service. Eventually, even the ibuprofen he routinely took before and during shifts stopped alleviating the pain, and outside of work, he began to walk with a limp. That April, when Alex informed Kahn of his injuries, he was provided with a different brand of soleless flats. They also battered Alex’s feet, so after enduring several more pain-ridden services, he decided to wear his own black shoes. Kahn noticed them…
Liable & Slander
I had been working at a place for almost 3 years before I quit because of harassment Coworkers would claim that I was acting inappropriate to them and spread this around where I live. My employer did not investigate these problems to find the truth because so many were filed they assumed it was happening when it was the reverse. My coworkers would ask me for favors like covering a shift or some pot. But when I asked to hang out with them, they would file that I was pressuring them to do things they didn’t want to do. I am a shut in and do not like going out because I have ADHD and most of the time sensory overload gets the better of me so asking them to chill was the only social interaction I would get. Now I’m having trouble finding a job or having friends because…
How much does a lobbyist make?
Yes, a lobbyist. Maybe we need to hire a lobbying firm to make this happen. Typing on Reddit is just the younger gens Fakebook. We have to play their game. Some of us can put up funds. How much does a lobbyist make? Time to make the change happen.
USD modern day slavery
Has anyone thought about how the us dollar has enslaved millions if not billions of people world wide. How would our same amount of work be worth more than another countries? I make 36 a hour and you make 6 for the same amount of knowledge and effort or less. Modern day slavery.
We work in a warehouse with another business, but both companies are like… run together? Idk, it's weird; they are both small businesses, so the owners know just about everything that goes on. We regularly deal with Owner B as he works out in the warehouse and does manual labor etc. I work 2nd shift, so he's usually finishing up his day as my team is coming in. Being a small business, our company can't really afford to fix everything, or they just take the cheapest route possible. I'm OK with some of their choices, but there's a lot of things I plan on reporting to whomever when I eventually leave; we have no hot water, our warehouse currently has no heat (except for a furnace in the back that doesn't even reach towards the front where we work + they claim we are getting heat this year), and just…
Job forcing someone to Resign?
My roommate (not on Reddit) is currently working for USAA but was hired through a temp agency in March '21. He lived in Vegas, NV when he was hired, but lives in CA now (since April '21). The job is 100% WFH. Recently, a boss of his told him his IP address showed he was in CA not NV. No document he has ever received/signed has any language about residency requirements, moving, address change notifications, etc. He was given an ultimatum, consisting of 3 options. 1: Move back to NV to WFH there. (He cannot as his car was totaled, he is saving for new one) 2: Take a leave of absence 3: Resign I have suggested he decline to accept those 3 options, and see if he can keep working there, from home here. He is actively job hunting in his free time. He has zero write-ups / issues…
