Hey! So basically around a month ago my manager came and did a drop in on me in the field and found I wasn’t there (was up the street using a washroom). He has had something against me since I grieved him in the past for expecting me to do jobs I wasn’t trained on/ saying safety was a grey area. The following day I found myself suspended for fact finding. They claimed in the past 30 days I had misappropriated 24 hours of company time. We questioned it and the company said it was out of their hands. Two weeks later I got terminated for misappropriation. The union set up an interview and it came out that most of the time I was accused of stealing was actually my unpaid lunch time that I wasn’t even charging for. Since then my meetings with the union/ company have been delayed…
If you accept a bid or estimate and you complain about the price, you’re a jerk. The house you are in has skyrocketed in value. If you don’t have enough money, you have too much home. Downsize or refinance because complaining to service providers who are likely trying buy a home have zero sympathies for your cash poor, equity rich position.
I (17M) quit McDonald’s, I was dealing with rude customers, shitty management, body aches and in between for a whopping $10.50/hour. I’ve been good at saving money and was able to quit while living comfortably off of savings and investments. This has been the best three weeks I’ve had in a while, my mental health is improving and I’m able to pursue my passion(s) more. Spend more time with family, etc. my advice is, save up your money and take a break from slaving for a while, it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.
I’m not sure if this belongs here but I need advice. I am currently working at my company in accounts payable, but they are trying to transition my role completely. New job tasks would include showing apartments like a leasing agent. I’m honestly baffled that they don’t understand why I am not jumping on board with this. It’s also taking me from WFH onto a jobsite and with a commute. Do I have any rights here if I quit because the job is changing so drastically? I’m really concerned they are trying to force my hand so I’m desperate enough to take the new role to avoid quitting and losing unemployment. Any advice would be appreciated. Edit- I work in WA state, which is an at-will state
Speeding ticket at an old job
Company I used to work for left me a message I got a speed camera ticket in a company truck I’m November . I left the job in December because of the safety conditions they had with their trucks, but I’m wondering if I have to pay it? It is not tied to my license as I was not pulled over nor was I issued demerits. Would rather not have to pay the $120 to a company I’m not with but wondering if there is anything they can do about it legally? Thanks!
What is my next step?
gave my 4 weeks notice yesterday
Ive worked so hard for this company for almost 12 years, doing countless hours overtime and always giving it my all, we had our first child last October, had 3 months off and came back to less hours. After 3 weeks i realised how awful the place is for my physical and mental well-being and handed in my notice today. Used a standard template for letter then added this to it in the hopes that he realises and make my coworkers work lives better I would like to explain some reasons why I am leaving: I feel my skills and commitment to this company are not fully appreciated. I have put in 12 years of my life there and I am tired of working so hard compared to others for little reward. I feel that the company treats its employees rather poorly- seen as simply money making tools, especially our…
