Ok so I'm just trying to see if this strikes anyone else on here as weird and wrong. So today, I was talking with a friend of mine whose boss called her during her birthday celebration. She basically had to stop celebrating her birthday and solve a work thing on her computer. I told her “If my boss pulls that, I'll quit, I'm too old and jaded”. She went “you're 28, that's an absurd thing to say”. She's not wrong. I'm not old. But in MY head, I thought “I started working 12 years ago, I've been doing this crap for over a decade now”. I feel old because I started working at 16. So I really started to think about it, and it's sort of mind-blowing that no one thought it might be a bad idea for a child to work for 8 hours at school, leave school and…

Well I start a new job Monday but boy was it hell to even just get started. So I got a job that is safety sensitive and I thought I was going to lose my job over providing a dilute sample (I had no idea what that was prior to this event). So I end up passing the physical minus that. I ended up having to wait 3 weeks and piss test 3 times till the 3rd finally came back non dilute. I was like holy crap I almost lost a job for being hydrated. Has anyone had bad experiences like this before?

I was in middle management (Store Operations) for a family owned company. For years only outside sales people received bonuses, rewarded with company trips, and other accolades. So I inquired about having the same opportunities, and was told that it wasn’t possible for interior sales personnel to achieve the goals that were set. I persisted and was given the outline that I needed to achieve. I broke that glass ceiling and continued doing so year after year. But I developed a problem. One of the outside salesman (who thought he was Gods gift to the company would steal accounts from other sales people. I would not put up with that crap as half the battle of getting an account was getting your foot in the door so I fought back. I only get like two days off a week of free time and I can’t even enjoy those days because I know I will be going back to work soon. Humans weren’t meant to live like this. Working full time is very damaging on your mental health. I wish I could only work 1-2 days a week and make enough to afford a decent life. Am I really asking for that much? If it was something I actually enjoyed doing then I would have no problem spending 40 hours doing it a week but spending the majority of your life doing something you hate just seems like torture to me

my bartending wage has been changed from $5 hourly to $2.83 hourly – no one was informed… However OUR tip out % was raised so we get more in tips, but the wage change without letting the employees know is a major warning sign – ultimately i’d like to report this [anonymously 1000%] how can i ? what other steps can i take? our staff of 6-7 bartenders are all upset and i want to get the ball rolling..thanks in advance; i’d like to sue their asses.

Today my colleagues got a raise in their salary and I got told that they win more because they have more experience than me even though I have been working there for more Time than some of them. I will be quiting my job in no less than 2 to 3 weeks and won't give them a heads up.

After coming out of the pandemic up here in Northern New England I figured it was time to get out a bit, get a part time job to pay some taxes and put a few extra nickles in the coffer. I applied for a job at the local Home Depot where I was offered a Customer Service job for $19.00 an hour with 15 to 22 hours a week. Perfect. Nothing too demanding. I go thru a week's worth of hiring process and day of training and things are going smooth when all of a sudden I get a call at home from HR… “Your rate of pay is wrong, it is not $19 but $14.50 an hour.
