It's a comedy about working at a big box store that operates exactly the same as Wal Mart and is definitely meant to be Wal Mart. It features: Scathing and accurate depictions of shitty retail practices, like trying to deny FMLA and treat pregnant women horribly, trying to deny unemployment, employees being homeless and on welfare, workers comp lies, being locked in overnight, abusing immigrants, etc Wal Mart specific criticisms like the morning stand ups and how cringe they are. An arc about unionizing and the store trying to crush the union, up to and including firing the entire staff and shutting the store down, and everything else stores do to try to stop unionization. Very diverse cast that does not feel forced or stereotypical. Everyone feels like someone I've worked with, but also, great representation. Hilarious ten second long clips of weird shit customers do that if you've worked…
Union representation in USA over time
And neither did you. ️
Gee goly gosh. How generous.
TL;DR: In a hostile work environment and finally posted notice, but I need out earlier because it’s too much. I need advice on how to get what I want out of HR. I want the paychecks I should get if I worked out my notice, and a positive letter of recommendation, without having to actually work my notice. Backstory below: I work in a hotel in a sales position. I’ve been here about 5 years and have always gotten positive reviews, written up only once (ADHD late arriver in the morning oops), and have made my sales targets every year since I started. Exceeding by 2-5% a year for a YoY of 5-7%. Basically, I’m objectively good at my job, but my boss is awful. She lies almost compulsively about everything, from where she goes during the day (Oh a sales call? Funny, where did those macys bags come from?),…
Classic labor exploitation
Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will not be paid for tonight's halftime show.Dr. Dre actually put up most of the show's $7 million budget himself, per @eriqgardner.He also bought his own box for friends to watch. pic.twitter.com/0jBZlOuHNl— Front Office Sports (@FOS) February 14, 2022
