Got a message from my boss this morning asking if I could make it to a sales meeting on Sunday morning from 8:30-11:30. Couple problems here; 1 – I already booked off the entire day and they accepted the request. 2 – This will be my first day off in over a month between my two jobs right now, I don't just want this, I need this day off for my sanity. 3 – Even without those 2 previous issues, there's no way I'm wasting 3 hours of precious weekend sleep over minimum wage and listening to people spew off to me about needing to sell more protection plans blah blah blah. I hate my job with a passion. I work for an outsourcing company that offers call centre services for Sky UK. I basically work as customer service and tech support agent for broadband and TV. I've worked here for about a year and it is my first office job and I cannot stand working even a second here. I want to quit so bad but I am so financially dependant on this job. I have minimal work experience and I have to give a 2-month leave notice before even being able to quit. Should I man up and keep working until I get better financially or should I bite the bullet and try something else. I work for my local Municipality in Ontario as a part timer. One thing that has been bothering me ever since I started is just how much the full timers are given while we get nothing. I don't blame the full timers at all, but rather the Municipality. Here are some of the things they get: Over $11 an hour more than part timers Full benefits Paid holidays off Vacation days that build up with time here Additional sick days The chance for free education Discount on services Membership to the Municipality union And that isn't even everything, while part timers get none of that. At the beginning of the year the minimum wage in Ontario went up, and the union got a pay raise for the full timers, but us part timers are still making the same. Obviously not for companies supplying Ukraine but where would the Soviets (I use that intentionally) turn for supplies? How long could they march on empty stomachs so to speak?

One of the things I hate most about corporate America is repaying a bonus I was given. I understand I left the company, and I get why they do it, but the fact is, they can easily forgive that money, it’s a tiny drop in their huge bucket, whereas this puts me in a horrible situation of choosing between food or being sent to collections. Love that for me.

If we average all the pay among all the people in the world right now.. the average pay is approximately 18,000$ not the American average of $56,000. If we get to the point everyone gets the average pay in American (56,000$).. should we keep pushing so that we have an average pay for the whole world (18,000$)? If we don’t aren’t we just being entitled and privileged Americans?

I first applied a month ago. They hired me immediately. Said I had to fill out a background check form, cool. I did that. Got a call back 3 or so days later saying the form checks reset every 48 hours and that I’d have to do it again. Was slightly miffed, but did it. Now I’ve waited nearly a month. Was told one day a week after submitting the second time that the check was still processing and that there was nothing for me to do until it was finished. Now today, a month later, I’m being fed the same bullshit about the forms resetting every 48 hours and they “must not have received it.” I have SCREENSHOTS proving I filled it out on the fucking seventh.
