You aren’t owed wages.

Capitalists have defined the world we live in. We live in the trap. The wage is there to rent us, but that's just the stupid veneer. If escape is not an option, if by all means the world resists by property, police, and propaganda the undisturbed enjoyment of your time by yourself and those you love by whatever direction and intent is unique to you, then you are a slave. We are slaves, and our wages distract us. By all means they would pay you nothing. Better yet they desire only to pay you what you need to return to work so they may extract more from you, but if you took care of your own survival they'd be even happier! It has only been through our efforts and power that we have not all fallen so far… except for unpaid internships of course, but we can't count all the…

Does anyone else feel like the whole mindset is almost psychopathic?

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a free market and you should be allowed to do whatever you want with your money, but when you get to the point where you have enough money for thousands of people to be set for life, why keep going? Being extremely cruel and unforgiving to everyone beneath you just to get more of something that you already have so much of that you probably don’t truly comprehend what you have, it just seems foolish to me. Not to mention how common this mindset is with people who have massive amounts of money. I like to imagine that if I became insanely rich then I’d help others as much as possible, but who knows. Maybe money really is that powerful lol.

I’ve only been able to bounce between factory jobs or talking to assholes in tech support roles since college…and I’m fucking sick of it.

Sure, I got a “useless” liberal arts degree, but it's just ridiculous. Got my first “fuck off” from a professional CPA no less today at my new job. I'm just…tired. Either work at a ghetto ass factory dying of heat stroke or make a few dollars more but deal with grown ass adults whose entire job revolves around using a computer, yet they barely know how to turn it on, and it's your fault. I just want a data entry job I can do from home to ride out the impending societal collapse. I guess that's probably the dream of everyone here at this point…but yah.

I like my job and my company

Great place. not toxic, cool people, decent pay, CEO is legit. Anxiety is super low, and I no longer feel like I'm heading into a fight when my boss says 'you got a minute?' My last job was a ballsack. A huge hairy ballsack in the mouth. Among other things, i did some light PM work that I was terrible at but tried to get better. I was fairly organized but refused to be a dick so my stuff was always behind (the developers were massively overworked and understaffed, I didn't like shoving my way in line) Had an aunt die, cancer, it sucked. I told my boss this months before so he would know to expect bereavement and in case I didn't seem myself. Fast forward to the day after the funeral when I got off bereavement. He calls me in to his office, not to see how I'm…

Former Employer Dragging Their Feet on My W-2s

I’m here to vent, and I basically never post, so forgive my formatting if it’s terrible. I used to work for a special kind of pharmacy. It was small but very profitable back in its heyday. I wish I had heeded the warnings on Glassdoor before I accepted the position, but I naively thought “it can’t be that bad”. Among other things, they have been raided by the FBI for illegal drug distribution. They routinely preformed what us seasoned vets called “Purges”, or arbitrarily firing a few people from every department to keep costs down. I have seen instances where drugs were shipped to a state we weren’t licensed in. Oh, and one time a manager was fired for logging onto her team’s computers after they left for the day. They were required to all use the same password, so she knew how to log on…
