We all know every major change in history was made possible because of reforms. We all remember French reform of 1789 that ended monarchy. And who can forget about reforms of 1848 that gave us democracy and constitutions. Since we are on american website we have to mention American reform of 1776 that gave USA its independence. TLDR: Reforms work! /s

I work at a company that is owned entirely by the employees. Sounds like a utopia right? Everyone is supposed to work hard, share in the fruits of their labor, and live happily ever after. WRONG I can't speak for all companies that are 100% employee owned, but it does NOT work out to be more equitable and stable than a traditional company owned by shareholders. At my “utopian” company, people at the top are for the most part lazy and incompetent. They are promoted based on the length of time they have been at the company, and how friendly they are with upper management. Nepotism is rampant, much worse than I have ever seen before. Ownership of the company is based on compensation: the more money you make, the more shares you control. A few people at the top control most of the company and compensate themselves extravagantly while…

We are everywhere, the 1.7 million and counting. Each day, we are getting punished by the system just because we want quality treatment. Talking about it is one thing, but actions are another. I do not have the best job, but I am not treated as poorly as from what I have read from some of your posts. I get really angry, seeing how people in power are so corrupt. I have a solemn dislike for the state of the economy, especially of the USA, my home, where my family came to for a better life in the last century. There needs to be work done. I hope I can see some of you join up and resist. The terrible bosses, the stingy CEOs, the selfish managers, that should all stop. Money is power, they say, and sadly, it seems like the top wants all of it and for us…

I feel so bad for waiters
A few weeks ago we were at a very fancy hotel (Skavania Lodge in Stevenson, WA) with some friends. One of them decided to stay an extra night and since I didn’t have work the next day I decided, “fuck it, why not” (it was half off a night then). Next morning we wake up and find three feet of snow on the ground; not unusual, but not common for the area. We go down for breakfast and found that the breakfast area was turned into a continental buffet run by ONE PERSON. Obviously this isn’t a big deal for us, but I felt horrible for her (the person running it). This was a resort-style hotel, so normally they had some fancy-ass breakfast option. Of course I tip super well, so I go on with my day. We go back to the same place for dinner and they have a…
