Work sickness issue
I have been off sick from work for 4 days and my boss mentioned getting a doctors note, despite it just being a sickness bug. Am i legally required to provide one?

My manager is always on my ass for not going above and beyond, but I don't care to. I don't plan on promoting at that company anyway. I just want to do my job and leave. Why can't they accept this?

Most people wouldn't complain about getting a raise. Last year after I got the 1% yearly standard inflation raise that everyone gets, I told my boss a salary amount I want to receive. He said that I 'could' be up for a senior title that would bump me up to the amount I wished for. Fast forward a year to today and I get the 1% standard inflation raise, plus an additional 1.5% raise. It totals to an increase of $36 per paycheck(bi-monthly). I feel like this is a slap in the face. I haven't had my yearly review with my boss to see if I had received the senior title yet. Hello redditors. I always have had this question in mind and it has recently bothered me as I had to experience it. How the hell am I supposed to get a note from the doctor when I am too sick to leave the house? A day was deducted from my PTO balance rather than my sickness leaves / days off balance as I could not produce a doctor's note. How the hell does one even utilize sick leaves?
