I work at a small açaí bowl place and receive minimum wage. I was wondering if California raises its minimum wage for fast food workers in April if I qualify for that or if açaí bowls are not fast food ?
Second Writeup In A Week
So, the further misadventures of my managers had them hand me a second writeup within a week of the health department showing up after I called them. This time because I didn't make sure the vreakfast buffet was full with cereal and milk after our second fridge died and all the milk went bad. So, once for something that happened two weeks prior but was suddenly an issue, and once for something that was out of my control, add onto this the fact that I have recieved no on the job training for my position and I am smelling a big fuckup on their part.
Is this out of line?
This was my boss this morning. I am the site HR specialist and he treats me like this constantly. I am allowed to contact govt agencies without it being used against me, yes?
Just Requested Work from Home
I just requested 40-60% work from home (wfh), and I’m just looking for any additional advise from the community. Background below. I started working for my local County Department of Transportation as a Right of Way Agent in February of this year (about 8 months ago). During the interview, I asked what they think about wfh, and they said they do it only for special circumstances, and basically never for an indefinite time (meaning only for a short while when the need arises). A couple weeks ago, my dad developed a problem that may leave him with altered vision, and unable to drive for the rest of his life. We live together, and our entire family consists of him and me. This also means that he has a lot of Doctor’s appointments right now, and probably will for the next couple months. Additionally, I just used the last of my…
So basically I quit a job after working 7 days. And my employer is not paying me. He kept ignoring my message. He was suppose to pay me at the first of the month. Is it worth the effort to file a complaint for a 500-600 dollar worth of working hours?
So quick rant: I have been working at this retail job for about a year and 4 months. Recently I have been getting kind of irritated about how one or two individuals who were hired 4 months after me have been getting trained before me at certain jobs. At my job, you start at fitting room, then tagging/ringing, then sorting through clothes (I work at a consignment store). I was trained how to sort first but then as of the last month the two people who were hired months after me have been doing the job I was trained for previously. I was wondering if it is worth the effort to bring it up with my manager or if I shouldn’t bother because I will be graduating from nursing school in 1.5 years and will quit the retail job once I graduate. Thoughts?
