We’re trying to figure out if this is a bad thing or not and why this would even happen? It’s a well established non-profit so I wouldn’t think money is the issue. Anyone have any opinions?
Hi there! I just wanted to take the time to complain here because InstaWork is the biggest shitshow of apps! I broke my phone and of course, I couldn't log into my app to book some shifts because they require a “One-time passcode,” just like everyone else in the world unfortunately (thanks scammers.) So, I started trying to contact them in any way I could. I called two different numbers and apparently, they don't even take calls or emails. They have an “unmonitored inbox” and when you call they direct you to the mobile app, but the problem is- I cannot connect to a mobile app! This is. literal proof of why we should not go automated or virtual, how can we rely on technology for everything? Smh!
I'll start: My boss once sent me an email with demands on things I should deliver within a short time period while I was on sick leave for being stressed. I told him I couldn't deliver because I was sick and that the assignment would make me more sick and then I got fired. I worked in a union..
My boss is a manipulative piece of shit. She has many reasons to fire me, but she hasn’t because she needs me. What is something that I can do that will instantly get me fired? I still want to be eligible for unemployment.
My coworkers and supervisor dislike me because I do well at my job so I have decided to do more. I’m sending out more emails, making sure they know I’m all bout the “team”…trying to one up people in external departments… Nothing hurts more than being penalized for doing your job well just because other people are lazy and don’t put in as much effort. So far my boss’s boss seems to like me which is probably just fueling her up more to find a reason to give me the boot. 🤷️ I just can’t stand the office politics and bs anymore.
Sarcasm and such warning: We all know we need to work. As otherwise there is no food, no healcare, no security, nothing will work. But working hard? yesss….. that is the actual issues this sub is talking about: being legally forced to work more than legally allowed, on top of this, said people are legally not even paid for the extra work, but the “owners” are. Managers: work harder, faster!!!! Workers: do I get paid more. Managers and such: you are a slave! you don't have the privilage to get paid fairly! you sign a contract that says we don't need to pay you more than so much, so of course your owner, like shareholders, are getting all the extra wealth you produce! They are legally entitled for the privilege of getting the profit the better the comany does!!! Random people: How dare you bother the rich!!!…
Just a rant. I hate point systems. I got 2 points for having a MRSA kidney infection. WITH Dr notes. Tired of people getting coddled and accommodations, when other don't. I'm tired of the favoritism and narcissistic, two faced bs. People acting and gossiping like high schoolers. Tf. Do your work, help your coworkers, go home. How fucking hard is it?
I have been working with recruiter to help me with finding a new job. I had a teams interview with a law firm this morning. The interview, I thought, went good. Then less than a hour after the interview, the recruiter calls me and says that the firm is not moving forward with me. I asked the recruiter to what happened. And of course, the firm didn't give a reason. I told the recruiter that I felt what the firm did was highly unprofessional and that juries have more time to deliberate. This was utter bullshit. How can a potential employer reject a candidate, less than a hour after an interview. Particularly in a time when employers are constantly saying, “nobody wants to work” I have been rejected before, but after a couple of days. But, this was was just unprofessional.
Preexisting Commitment – New Job
Hi, I just got an interview for a better job, but I already booked a 3-week vacation in approx 6 months. Is it okay not to mention this in the interview, and once hired, let my manager know? The job is hybrid (with 2 days in the office), so I’m open to working during my vacation, but cancelling would be quite expensive.
Manager Needs Opinions
So I am on the verge of hiring a new employee and about to enter the interview process and I was hoping to get some help from folks of this subreddit. The role is salaried (70K) although they are only responsible for 36 hours of work per week (9 hrs Mon – Thurs). The position is as a product auditor where they will look at hundreds of food items a day and conduct various testing on them. The role offers very little in the way of variety and recognition. My desired qualities and why (and how would you ask these questions or are these desired qualities unreasonable)? Promptness, I personally equate people who are late to not caring about a position. I know that is a shallow view but if the start time of the position is 8 am my expectation is that you to have arrived to work and…
