Pay or Happiness

Should I quit my current job for better hours and more home-time? I’ve been reprimanded, insulted and even called a “weak man”, all for wanting more time with my fiancé and two year old daughter. My father always worked a lot and never got a chance to make much time for us kids, so I’m trying to break that cycle. To change jobs, I’d be taking a pay cut of about $2.50/hr, but I’d be working in air conditioning and finally be out of the Kansas heat. I don’t necessarily need the money I’m making now, but it certainly helps a lot. Between the insults, write-ups and medical issues due to the heat, I should quit for the other job, right? Why do I feel like I’d be making a mistake?
