I work for the blue and gold auto parts DC, sounding very similar to Napa Valley. Yesterday I talked to HR about a pay raise because $16.71 isn’t cutting it. She asked what I wanted and I said $21 MINIMUM. She was shocked and said they can’t do that. I said what? We made approximately $9M each month for the past 5 months (including May) how do we not have money to get everyone a decent pay raise? She said she didn’t know and “they” keep talking about bonuses and it never comes.
