I work at a local theatre that has a few people working there. Everyone works part time, even our managers, so no one gets any helpful benefits. I understand this, but here’s the problem: most of us there are making only $9.00 an hour (my states minimum wage). I’ve seen many of my coworkers come in absolutely sick and tired because they can’t afford to miss a day of work. Even the managers go through this! I saw my manager today throwing up in the back and trying her best to stay at her 8-5 shift! Another co-worker, who most likely is having liver issues, came to work yesterday in pain the whole time because he’s living paycheck to paycheck. No one should be living life like this at any job.
