Hi everyone- dropping in to ask how you all approach performance reviews? I am a naturally modest/insecure person so I am the type of person inclined to rate myself 6 or 7 out of 10 just to avoid seeming arrogant, but I do want to secure a promotion sometime soon. The only problem is most qualitative questions on my review are rated 1-4. I feel like rating all 4s seems a bit arrogant, whereas 3s seem quite low. I think I settled on giving myself three 4s and one 3, in addition to mentioning “improvements I could make” in other sections. I also listed a number of projects I’m currently working on that are beyond my job description. Is this an okay plan? I just want the higher pay of the promotion.
