Idk about you guys but IMO this is one of the most lazy formats of showing your employees appreciation. Most of the time these kinds of things take place during work hours and set you behind if you have actual shit to do and if they aren't then spending your own time is no reward. Instead of spending money on these events why not just award the money? They'll also make you feel ungrateful for not wanting to participate or they'll hold these lunches and “favors” over your head. (I didn't need hot wings but I do need gas money) Idk but I would rather be actually acknowledged and shown mutual respect over arbitrary “We appreciate you” lunches.

Arbitrary company gifts mean nothing. I would rather an actual legitimate “Thank you” for things I do than once or twice a year “uR GrEaT hErEs fOoD.”
