Poor wages lead to lack of striking

Long time lurker, first time poster here so be gentle please. This may not be a hot take but something did cross my mind today while reading about all the people that wanna walk out on their jobs and have strikes until womens right are restored. Is that what a lot of posts on this sub entail? Being paid a laughable wage, not even a livable wage, a poverty wage, a living pay check to pay check wage, a I’m only 2 paychecks away from living on the street wage. Strikes and walk outs could take weeks to have any effect, by then, a good chunk of those people won’t be able to afford food, bills, or even rent. They’d be homeless.

But maybe that’s the point, the government doesn’t ever want to raise the minimum wage and when they do, it’s pennys worth. Maybe they do that exactly because it forces the poor, the minorities, the down trodden to not rebel and not rise up. Simply because they can’t afford to. Just another way the rich and powerful stay in power.
