My position was ‘dissolved’ and my hospital will be handed to another to manage. So…you are removing the position of the practice manager, but having another practice manager from a different hospital manage my hospital too. Um…doesn’t sound like your ‘dissolving’ my position, it sounds like you are firing me.
Veterinary Practice Manager here, been field for 23 years and at this hospital for 2 years. Was supposed to have a managing veterinarian as my partner to help drive business and increase profits. For some reason corporate just cannot find a veterinarian for the hospital – FOR 2 YEARS! I have been working with relief veterinarians only, and they do not have a vested interest in growing the practice and most of them don’t do surgery. They are there for a paycheck only. I built up a great team and improved client service and patient care. Clients want consistency of the DVM and want to not have to be referred to different places for simple surgeries. It was hard to retain clients. Anyway, was told Tuesday my position was being dissolved and the hospital was going to be put under the leadership of this guy who already manages 2 other hospitals as a multi site manager. The Middle-Man Head Dude told me that it wasn’t about my abilities but the fact that they need to make a profit so they are restructuring how the business is run. He offered for me to move within the same company but go down to being a Vet Tech or receptionist at one of my peers hospitals, because there is not another PM position available. Or, I can look outside the company and I was given a timeline.
This company has not provided me the resources to succeed at my job and is now telling me since I couldn’t get the profits up I am out. Corporate Veterinary hospitals y’all!
