I am now seeing articles that job offers are being cancelled with an impending recession so people need to, basically, suck it up with what they have. More locally, one of my organization’s competitors just folded so our place has been hoovering up all the laid off employees and dont care that we have an insanely high turnover rate. Zero incentive to improve anything here.
It seemed to happen so suddenly and now I feel like the window of opportunity I had to leave a toxic job is closed. I wanted to stick it out at least 1 year to put on my resume and in that year, my entire team at this place turned over. Everyone is underpaid, overworked, and treated terribly and our supervisor is generally hated by all.
My job is very niche and what’s more, I am still pretty junior in the field. Just feeling burned out and depressed.
