Pretty over it

A few months back I accepted a “promotion”. My work load more than tripled but because I’m less able to earn commission, I’m actually making $200-$300 less each paycheck. I tried to make it work because I enjoy the new position more, but recently started struggling to make ends meet. I reached out to my direct supervisor (who I actually respect a lot) and explained this “promotional” wage concern. I asked for them to match my previous wage (not even to exceed it-despite the amount of extra work) which equated to a $1.18/hour raise. She complimented my thoughtful approach and forwarded it to her superiors/HR. They came back to me with an offer for $0.50 more per hour IF I agreed to take on a new role IN ADDITION TO my current role.
