just have to say, this guy is a turd. the other day, he opened the store to customers while knowing an associate was in the middle of a medical emergency. he was supposed to call an ambulance for her, didn't, opened the doors, and went back to his office. when asked if he'd called the ambulance, he said he thought someone else was taking care of it. another instance of him being a dickwad was a month or so before i first started. he somehow broke part of the door in the warehouse we use to receive shipments, told nobody, but was eventually called out by the delivery driver when someone realized what had happened and followed up. someone could have really hurt themselves. that's not even everything, so, ya, needless to say i'm pretty thoroughly disgusted by him.
where i'm working is a retail store and i'm part time minimum wage. the job just gives me somewhere to go and something to do but it's changing. i feel like as more people are getting sick, it's just getting more and more exhausting and everyone's being pushed too hard. this is not supposed to be a job where you burn out. it's part time. it's minimum wage. despite all this, i actually applied for a full time position but i don't even really want it.
i feel like it's no coincidence that ever since applying for full time, i've been scheduled for basically the hardest work in the store. i think my boss thinks he has me now and he can work me as hard as he wants. what he doesn't realize is that i'm lucky enough to not even need to be working right now. i'm only doing it to save some money and get out of the house every day. as if i could even live off the money i make! so now we're playing a new game where i'm going to learn how to avoid working harder than i think is fair, which should be interesting. i'm sure i'll be upsetting a lot of people with my new pace, but i'm too much of a people pleaser anyway. also i'm probably going to follow that up by quitting just because this guy is a disgusting worm and i don't want to work for him.
