I’ve seen it time and time again where people get called outside of work with questions pertaining to the job and will be kept on the phone for a while. People please understand it’s technically illegal of your employer to do this, even tho using our cellphones is a 2nd nature to us, it’s still technically working and they need to pay you for it.
I had a job where this one manager would tell us if we didn’t know how to do something to call our coworkers to help walk us through whatever we needed. One complaint to HR got that crap shut down instantly with a nice, juicy scolding from the district manager to our manager for being so lazy. Now if an employee needs to be asked something off the clock they don’t answer anymore but if they feel like it just to help out the manager puts in their time.
Please pass this along. Don’t ever work for free, talking over the phone is still working, this includes text messages as well. Thank you for reading, God bless.
