I will keep this as vague as possible as to not reveal myself to any former employees, or people who may personally know about the store I worked for.
I used to work for a vape shop. they were constantly doing anything they could to dodge taxes, from using shell companies to sell their own products to themselves that they bought from distributors. to hiding their nicotine purchases from the Govt. (by law all juices are taxed now by the nicotine content on the business side (not customer side) They would use a shell company to pretend to be a lab to avoid the taxes, and distribution limitations as a commercial entity) then sell that to the vape shop. (same company technically) They were also making their own e-juice which had not been registered, or tested by the FDA. (that's why it's so hard for you to find “house juice” any more. you have to pay thousands of dollars to have it certified, safety tested, and registered recipe. it's cheaper to just buy someone else and resell it now. well, when I was fired for “making too much” ($2 above minimum wage) I retaliated by reporting them to the FDA. this was some 6 or so months ago. just drove past their location today, and it's completely shut. no products inside. I drove to their other shop to see if it was closed. yep. good, fuck them. I hope his $2 saved by firing me was worth it. I can only assume it was my doing because their business was making thousands a day. a 120ml bottle of juice would cost them less than $2 to make, but it would be sold for $30. they were not hurting at all financially. it's not much, but always do your part. no matter how small, if you can report your employer for ANYTHING. do it. they don't give a fuck about you. return the favour in kind.
