Put the salary range in the job posting!!!

Why can't we just put the salary range in the position description? It's so frustrating. I know it's intentional on the part of the employer, but the thing I really don't get is that it wastes the employer's time just like it wastes the candidate's time. She kind of made a face at my response, which I knew was a bad sign. I was offered the position a few hours after the interview for $11,000 less than the salary I asked for. It was also a slight pay cut from what I currently earn. I turned them down immediately.

They wasted my time, and I'm angry. I was honest on the application about what I'd be willing to accept and they knew they couldn't pay that. They shouldn't have even offered me an interview, let alone the position. It's insulting.
