Question about what I should do.

I work a nice job that pays decent for my area, it’s SUPER easy and chill. I work 4 days then 4 days off. Been working here 6 months and seen my boss 2 times super hands off. The problem is I don’t wanna lose my job, but if I’m sick or call in for any reason I have to make that shift up the next cycle when the person on the opposite days works. And they don’t wanna pay overtime for anything over 40 hours so they will clock me in when he’s working and vice versa so the hours don’t go over 40 on paper. How could I go about this and maintain on the companies good side?
