Hey everyone-
My gf is starting a new job, and she’s been told not to discuss pay (twice in person, once in handbook). The company says it’s a terminable offense. Obviously, this is illegal. I just want to get some advice on what she should do. I suggested to her that she privately talk to the managers and let them know she knows it’s illegal, and maybe brung forth the penalties the company would incur if a complaint were to be filed. Only trouble is, I can’t find any data for what the penalties would be.
Do any of you have experience with this sort of thing? If so, what did you do? Just a guy trying to help his gf.
