Long story short, I worked at Mister Car Wash (in management) for 4 years, made the decision to leave due to new upper management operating in ways I didn't agree with, turned in my two weeks and got sick during my last week. Put in for two Paid Sick days I'd already accrued, and got denied because “We only pay out requests for employees that stay with us” (against company policy). Mind you, I never once called out during those four years (besides a run-in with Covid) and always got stellar annual reviews. They fucked me JUST because I was leaving them.
Let this be a reminder. No matter how friendly you and your management team is, it is very much an us vs them mentality. As long as you continue to make them look good, you'll stay on the right side of it. If not….
(for the record, great company to work for. Solid pay and benefits and all that, just this particular set of management sucks)
