Quit Mcdonald’s because they don’t care about us at all

I got the job at the beginning my last year of high school. It wasn’t my first job (I have horror stories from my other job too) but I never expected these managers to care so little about us employees. First of all their scheduling was illegal. They would give us a closing shift (11pm-12am) and then an opening (6-7am). Where I live, there must be 12 hours minimum between shifts. They also schedules two of my coworkers DURING their summer school. They had let them know their summer availability a month in advance just as the scheduling managers asked, so how this happened baffles me. They have no respect for medical conditions and doctors notes whatsoever. A coworker of mine has a skin condition where she cannot work around heat. She told the managers on her first day and they agreed she would not work on fries (which btw is already dangerous without the skin condition, everyone who worked there has at least one scar from fries). But after a while they stopped caring. They put her on fries despite her condition and only let her switch positions when I asked if I could take over for her instead. I personally struggle with terrible insomnia and asked them three different times if they would accept a doctors note to not have opening shifts (I was closing most shifts anyway this wasn’t a big change and definitely doable for them). Every time they ignored my text. I’m hindsight I should have been more forceful because it took a role on me when I got many openings in a row. But they knew a shy teenager wasn’t going to question authority 🙁

And don’t even get me started on the sexual harassment there…
