Four other women and myself quit last week right on the spot after my job tried to force us to go on camera for the entirety of our shift. Our productivity is great, and they tried to use the excuse that they’re only doing this to make us feel like we’re part of the office and to make it feel like a family. Bullshit. They just want to micromanage and have us under surveillance and I’m totally not for it. If I wanted to feel like I was in an office, then I would’ve just got a job in an office.
We tried talking to the director after it happened and she dodged us after work. We rescheduled the meeting to the next morning and she didn’t try to hear us out at all. She was immediately defensive and combative. Just had a negative energy from the jump.I had been wanting to quit for months now, but this was just the icing on the cake. They are an already small company and losing 5 people is going to be bad, at least for a few weeks. They struggle very bad with retention and recruiting. I’ve seen about a dozen people get hired and then quit after a month or so since I started working in August. Hopefully, one day they will be out of business for good. They are a terrible company to work for.
