So I’ve worked for this law firm for 2 years. My ‘boss’ was a money-hungry woman who did not think about the interests of her clients at all. She also treated me like crapp and het behavior made multiple people quit, which resulted in me doing extra work. One day she asked me if I could do an X amount of extra work, since she couldn’t find anyone else to do it. I told her no, because I could barely do the things I was assigned to as it was. She then said well why don’t you stay longer like everyone else (mind you she pays me under the norm of people with my diploma, and she is also a small law firm). Also the other people working there barely work overtime. She was referring to the young secretary people working overtime, because they have nothing else to do. I was so confused by her request.
Fast forward few months later, I got really sick. I then heard from another ex-worker that she was talking shit about me while I was working from home (I have long COVID and she doesn’t believe in that). It was the last straw for me. I called in sick, went on sick leave for 3 months and found another (great) employer in that time. Offcourse she was pissed of when I told her I was leaving. I have never felt more happy leaving that toxic environment. I truly never encountered a more nasty human being in my life then her. She only cared about money and could give 0 fcks about actual people. I always wonder why these kind of people become CEO’s and successful in life. It seems kind of unfair. But oh well, she’s not my problem anymore!
